Students and instructors are increasingly relying on mobile devices for many of their daily activities. For this reason, the current iteration of the MERLOT website was designed responsively and is scalable and fully-functional on any size device.
MERLOT has also developed a set of resources that can facilitate the use of mobile devices for teaching and learning. This collection of online mobile resources found in the MERLOT Portal on Mobile Learning is available to all users of MERLOT. This resource is an open, cross disciplinary MERLOT Teaching Commons portal that focuses on mobile learning best practices, instructional support ideas, and materials that advance the pedagogical understanding of teaching with technology with mobile devices.
As of January 1, 2020, the MERLOT Search App, previously available on iOS, Android, and Blackberry platforms, is no longer available or supported.
The app provided a mobile-friendly way to search the MERLOT Collection at a time when websites themselves were designed only for desktops. The current, mobile-friendly version of the MERLOT website allows for far more search options and capabilities than the mobile app.
